About Me
Dr. Eli Kraiem, Clinical Psychologist
Couples Therapist, Relationship Expert, & Adjunct Professor
For over 10 years, I've helped individuals and couples create healthier relationships, break destructive patterns, and build more meaningful lives.
Many of the people who come to me have already spent years trying to figure things out on their own. They've read the books, listened to the podcasts, and talked through the problems countless times. Yet they still find themselves stuck in the same conflicts, the same insecurities, or the same painful relationship dynamics.
The reason is usually not a lack of effort. It's that the real issues often live beneath the surface.
Whether you're struggling with a relationship crisis, recovering from infidelity, feeling disconnected from your partner, or trying to understand your attachment patterns, therapy can help uncover what's keeping you stuck and create meaningful change.
Availability: I provide in-person therapy in New York City, and telehealth sessions for clients throughout the states of New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

My Approach
I believe that insight without action rarely creates lasting change.
Many therapists focus primarily on understanding. Others focus only on solutions. My work brings both together.
We'll explore how your past experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns continue to shape your life today. At the same time, we'll identify practical changes that help you move toward the life and relationships you want.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I'm both compassionate and direct.
I don't simply sit back and ask how that feels. If I notice a pattern that's keeping you stuck, I'll point it out. If there's something important being avoided, we'll talk about it. Therapy should be a place where meaningful conversations happen, not where people endlessly repeat the same stories.
My goal isn't to tell you how to live your life.
My goal is to help you understand yourself more clearly so you can make choices that align with who you want to be.
My Background
My career has centered on understanding relationships and helping people improve them.
In addition to my private practice, I serve as an adjunct professor at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, where I teach and lecture on couples therapy and relationship dynamics. I also lecture nationally on relationships, infidelity, betrayal, and attachment, and supervise other therapists who work with couples.
I've worked with hundreds of individuals and couples facing challenges ranging from recurring conflict and emotional disconnection to major relationship crises. These experiences have reinforced something I see every day: most relationship problems are far more complex than they initially appear, but they are also more changeable than people often believe.
My work combines evidence-based approaches with deeper insight-oriented exploration, helping clients understand both what is happening and why it's happening.
Outside Of Therapy
Outside my professional work, I'm married with two children and live on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
These days, much of my free time revolves around family life. When I can carve out a little space for myself, I enjoy music and singing, mindfulness and meditation practice, and exploring the intersection of psychology and mysticism. I've also completed silent meditation retreats and try to make it to the gym whenever family schedules allow.
I believe personal growth isn't something reserved for therapy sessions. It's an ongoing process that shows up in our relationships, our families, and the ways we choose to engage with the world around us.
